As Christians who wants to become as great as Jesus Christ on earth and in heavens, just as our Father in heaven desires, Romans 8:29, and which shows that it is very possible to become like Him, we cannot be so by categoring mainly on His backgrounds as reason for His greatness in any sense. If it is for His backgrounds that God says we should focus and listen to Him for us to be great, then we cannot be like Him in any way, because our mothers were not virgin before and after they gave birth to us. They were probably virgins before they knew our fathers, but never after they came across our fathers - the connection that preceded our conceptions. And for that, every other thing has no value in itself as for us to become like Jesus Christ in comparison to backgrounds.

Therefore, when God instructs us to focus on Jesus Christ, He is telling us to pay attention to what Jesus did and how He did it. It is in that we have our road map to heaven's fullness and earthly greatness, "...and you have been given fullness in Christ," Colossians 2:9-10.
WHAT HE DID THAT MADE HIM GREAT
Our first verses are extracted from the book of Hebrews 2:18 to 3:1-3. It says,
"For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; [2] Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. [3] For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house."
Here we read that He is able to help anyone who is being tempted by certain situations because He himself experienced the pain one faces while undergoing temptation; and without falling into any temptation, He is now more than able to help us in any situation to overcome temptation without iota of condemnation, Romans 8:1-2.
Note: Jesus Christ's greatness here is that He overcame temptations, not because He was born by virgin Mary, nor because He studied the word or because He fasted and prayed or because He ran away from the source of the temptation (though it is a wise thing to flee and to do those things), but what the Bible says is that, "Who was faithful to Him that appointed Him..."
So we see that it was not by running away (though it's never a sin if you do run) from the sources of the temptations. Apostle Paul said, "...in that case you would have to leave this world," 2 Corinthians 5:10. For how can we run? It is better sometimes to stand up to our fear and conquer it once and for all.
The truth is that running away from temptation is wisdom, but it doesn't liberate one from constant temptation since its source is still alive.
