Unfortunately, because of our current global landscape this reality has allowed many to be overcome with fear and anxiety. It has even led many Christians to be crippled with doubt. In times of crises, it can be difficult to believe in the goodness of God. It’s easy to say Jesus is good when things are going well; it’s another thing entirely to say he is good when we are ill, when we’ve lost our jobs, when we’ve lost a loved one, or when it seems like our world is falling apart. In these times, we can be plagued with the question, “Jesus, are you actually who you say you are?” Fortunately, we aren’t the first ones to wrestle with this doubt in times of trouble; in fact, church history is full of men and women of faith who wrestled with a similar question.
