DOUBTING GOD IN TIMES OF CRISIS

Article by  Louis Phillips originally posted on www.rzim.org As much as we don’t want to believe it, the future has always been uncertain. Unfortunately, because of our current global landscape this reality has allowed many to be overcome with fear and anxiety. It has even led many Christians to be crippled with doubt. In times of crises, it can be difficult to believe in the goodness of God. It’s easy to say Jesus is good when things are going well; it’s another thing entirely to say he is good when we are ill, when we’ve lost our jobs, when we’ve lost a loved one, or when it seems like our world is falling apart. In these times, we can be plagued with the question, “Jesus, are you actually who you say you are?” Fortunately, we aren’t the first ones to wrestle with this doubt in times of trouble; in fact, church history is full of men and women of faith who wrestled with a similar question. Factually all parents individually has a particular profession, either due to their personal flair for the profession or because the profession is their failed dream or for whatever reason, that they desire their children should choose as a life career, but while only a very few parents have the understanding that each child is created particularly to be something else different from what another person is created to be, a larger percent of parents, especially the educated ones passionately pursue, putting together all efforts, to see their children as professionals in those particular fields they desired. There have been avalanche cases of such parents who threatened their children with di
